Applause for not sticking with the GF just so she will help you with your party, but, dude, you are in trouble!
Get on the phone and start calling! Some groceries have a catering department, you can order anything the deli serves, in quantity. Some restaurants do too, salad, pasta, chicken, salad, bread sticks, all except the dronks. Do you have a bartender friend who could either, help, or tell you what to buy? An easy thing is to have a theme, and a theme drink. Like, serve mexican food, and make pitchers of marguarettas and sangria, that will cancel the need for a bar.
Some catering companies will do last minute parties, if they are not booked, but often charge extra, have a late fee.
In a pinch, some local restaurants and some of the big chains have a party room, and either let you go through the buffet, or offer a limited menu, If the place does not serve alcohol, have everyone over to your place after for drinks, or move to a bar where you have made arrangements.. Another is to call a restaurant, tell them the number of people, and see how they can help. A national chain that sells wings, and a national chain that advertizes that they are hometown will accomodate up to around 20 people in the restaurant.
And do not forget the local bakery! Call them and order a selection of desserts, and have everyone over for a dessert and coffee, after a restaurant experience.
Good luck!

First off your a dork for breaking up with her b4 the party. Even if you had differences you could have waited a few days. No you can't get a party planner in that little of time. You will need drinks and good food. Most restaraunts have carryout platters for parties Call around and see who. Good luck

I recommend that you start watching Party planners it comes on I think HGTV, or check out foodnetwork.com on party planning, there are so many shows on cable that can help you with this. You can do this all by yourself, but dude that was a little lame of you to break up with you GF before the party. Tsk tsk tsk.

It's probably too late to hire a planner. Most require a certain number of days. If you did hire one they'd probably charge way more than regular price because of the rush nature of the situation. You're probably better off just doing it on your own.

i think personal creativity is better than a party planner. just make a list of everything you will need, (napkins, desserts, invitations, etc.) and try to tweek each one a bit with your own idea, or use a theme. FamilyCircle is a good monthly magazine for ideas like that, and i think they have a website.

Go to your deli and get a meat and cheese platter and a fruit and veggie platter for appetizers. Then get a pork loin. Go to the meat counter at your store, they can tell you how many pounds you need for the number of guests. Pick up the makings for salad. Tomatoes, crutons, dressings, ect... Veggie, asparagus goes well with pork. For a side dish, a pasta with a light sauce. If you are doing a dessert, well there are so many ideas. For recipes and ideas for variation go to foodnetwork.com and browse their recipes, which you can print. Good luck

no don't leave it in a planner's hands but your own. they cost way to much money.... put all of your ideas together between you and your friends and remember to let youre friends say there ideas. you can pick an idea out of a hat ot you can just come up and decide on one your own..... why are you having this party? maybe i can help you... oh and how old are you

craigslist
Reservations at a nice restaurant
Make it a cocktail party - pick up finger foods/dessert from a caterer
Keep a well-stocked bar
You can do it yourself. People mainly want to mingle and have a good time. Enjoy the party.
