Because we are all stuck inside, viruses are more likely to be transmitted within enclosed spaces.

We have colds more in the winter because of heating. You keep your houses all warm and toasty and its a breeding ground for viruses and germs. If you ever notice in an operating room the keep it 65 degrees or below to lower the risk of infection. Same principle goes in your home. The warmer it is the better chance that germs have to multiplying and making you ill.

a cold is a cold is a cold... it's viral in origin with no discernible difference for both summer and winter. people usually feel worse in the winter because of the outside temperature.

You have colds when you get so cold. And in the winter definitelly you get very cold.
The only way to get a cold in the summer is if you enter a mall with the air conditioning at high.

More colds in winter because the weather is damper, meaning that the cold viruses get transmitted more easliy as they stay in the air longer

When the human body gets cold, it has to fight to stay warm, because we need to maintain a specific body temp to stay alive. Because our defenses are down - we are more susseptible to viruses and bacteria. Hense the increase in cold and flu in the wintertime.
I've had a cold in the summer... it SUCKS.

in the cold your immune systems are weaker so your are more prone to diseases. it has nothing to do with how cold it is outside like most mom myths are. in the summer the only thing yourbody does is sweat which doesnt take alot of work.

The cold dries out the linings of your mucous membranes (ie nose, throat) making it easier for germs to enter.
