I like fresh yellowtail sashimi. Each part tastes and looks different so you can enjoy several flavor from the same fish. When I'm tired of raw fish, I make yellowtail teriyaki. Oh it's sooo yummy.
Also spicy yellowtail handroll is my favorite with some chopped scallions and masago.

White tuna tartaki - It's white tuna sashimi that comes with white onions and a sweet sauce that is very yummy.

Also salmon sashimi because they do not have any fishy smell.

As for sushi, I love unagi sushi! It must come in BIG pieces and served a little warm. I like the sweet taste of the unagi sauce.

Sometimes I buy salmon sashimi and unagi from a Japanese supermarket. That is way cheaper than eating in a restaurant.

All was perfect - maybe the best was the rice. lukewarm, bit sticky and sensually desintegrating in the mouth, rich rice aroma with touch of cedar wood and perfect acidity - crisp nori leaf. Wasabi - fresh and bit juicy. A normally bit bland squid sushi was a transcendent treat - my friend used a pinch of salt instead of the dip in soysauce. The symphony went on with the uni, yellowfin, and some local rock fishes (it was in bozo, near tokyo, in winter).

i like unagi (eel) because of it's texture and aroma. also it's a good introduction for first timers because it is cooked.

i also like the fish egg one ( forgot the japanese name...is it ikura?) because of the intense fish flavor. i almost feel like part of the ocean when i bite those eggs.

oh ya, and mackeral because it is usually the cheapest fish and is also delicious with a distinct flavor
