It's called "irregular heart beat" for a reason. The EKG might of read "normal" during the time of your heart beating normally. EKG's are only good when you are having the sx during the time of recording. Otherwise- EKG's are at no value.

The heart monitor everyone's talking about is called a 24 hour "Holter monitor", or they could do an "Event monitor for 30 days."

Yes it's possible. Make an appointment with your regular doctor (or find one) to get evaluated. This could be simply due to anxiety, or something else entirely, but I wouldn't mess around with it.

My entire family is affected by anxiety/panic attacks and/or tachycardia and we all take different drugs to control it.

If your irregular heartbeat is due to "nerves" as you say, you must look at what it is in your life that is causing these symptoms.

See a medical doctor first, and if necessary, see a psychologist or counselor to find out if they can help.

Good luck!

If there is any question, you can wear a monitor for a few days to catch any irregularities.
