Wow! There were a lot of good answers in here. I think most of them were correct. I usually don't store the bulbs. I cut it at the base and place the base in water so that I can plant it later when it gets roots. I wrap the leafy part in plastic and leave it in the fridge. Even if it dries you can still use it for certain things.

Store fresh lemongrass in the refrigerator wrapped in plastic for up to 2 weeks; freeze the lower part of the trimmed bulb for up to a month.

Wrap it using the cling wrap or you can also use a plastic container & then store it in the fridge...

I always wash them and cut them up to 2 inches long then put in a plastic container and freeze them.

1-2 WEEKS KEEP DRY AND VENTILATED IN THE FRIDGE ! ANY TIME AFTER THAT I JUST TIE IN A BUNCH AND HANG TO DRY IN THE KITCHEN (DRY IS JUST AS SAVORY IN COOKING AND DRINKS .MAKES A GREAT TEA ALSO !!
