I am a big fan of the holidays. Thanksgiving and since my birthday is Christmas Eve, Christmas. I love the ambience of the holidays and the women surrounding taking over the kitchen cooking all their favorite dishes., the decorations, the warm feeling throughout the house, visitors coming and going, laughs and memories. To me, the most favorite meal would include: Turkey, Ham, Beef Roast, Corn Bread Dressing, Potato Salad, Sweet Potatoe (pone) (marshmellows on top), Collard Greens cooked with ham hocks or salt pork, stuffed eggs, (deviled), stuffed celery (cream cheese), dates, fruit, nuts, macroni and cheese casserole, relish tray (tomatoes, beets, green onions), corn bread, hot buttered home made rolls, cranbery sauce, desserts: sweet potato pie, pecan pie, sock-it-to-me cake, chocolate cake, pies of all kinds, cobblers (apple, peach), home made ice cream -and then there are folks to like to grill - barbeque ribs and chicken, sausages, huge shrimp kabobs, vegetable kabobs, salad trays, and to top it all off - KOOLAID! (ice tea, lemonaide, sodas). And the grande finale - MY BIRTHDAY CAKE!
