Angina is a lack of oxygen to the heart caused by blocked arteries.. I had unstable angina for about ten years before the heart attack. Unstable angina is the opposite as what you would think. If a person has chest pain while they are working or working out one might think something is going on.I had shoulder pain only when I went to bed and it lasted for 15 minutes. I was in construction and thought I had rotary cuff problem until I found out the hard way it was not. Everybody is different as cardiologist have heard it all. If you have it take care of your self and if you think you do then see your doctor. 2 out of three heart attack patience can be saved.

Angina is when the heart muscle cramps because of a poor blood supply. You can get stable or unstable angina. Stable angina comes on when you exert yourself, say by walking, Unstable angina will come on at any time.

Angina, or angina pectoris, is caused by myocardial ischemia: restricted blood flow to the heart. Reduced blood flow lowers the amount of oxygen available to the heart, resulting in chest pain and other angina symptoms.
Atherosclerosis is usually to blame for myocardial ischemia. Atherosclerosis occurs when fat and cholesterol plaques build up in the coronary arteries and obstruct blood flow to the heart.

there will be a plaue (the atherosclerotic plaque) that is partially obstructing the artery......& meeting the heart's basal requirement...but when the heart's requirement increases as in exercise...the amount of blood in not enough....& this is when patients get the symptomes...
if the disease progress..& complete obstruction occures..they'll get infarction(cell death)
hope this helpes..
