Khichdi(from India)

Take 1 cup rice and 1 cup lentils and soak in water for about 10 mins. Then mix them up in a pan or pressure cooker with 4 cups of water and some salt, and cook the mixture till it is set. For flavor, you may add some cloves and a stick of cinnamon.

This is served with yogurt.

Serves as a great sickness meal - balanced (rice has carbs, lentils has protein, yogurt has calcium) and is gentle on your system.

Korean "Kong Nam Ul Guk" (sp?). Essentially good broth and bean sprouts to which sliced hot peppers and a red firey chili powder are added to taste.
