How many people would protect themselves after seeing a HIV patient die? Would you think twice before having sex with your mate unprotected? The reason I am asking is because there are some people I have talk to, really don't think about it or feel it will happen to them. Do you think this would change if someone had to watch a person die from a deadly disease. I think it would make a big different's. Please No jokes!! Tell me what you really think>Thanks!

For people that are asking why I want to know? because so many are dying from this and oher diseases and people feel if its not me that they don't care. I took care of a women who had cancer and watch her die slowly and it was so catastrophic to me that it made me really think about my life and others. And made me ask people if they seen such a thing would it change there lives. So this is the reason for my question. Would it change your life after seeing something so catastrophic.

I actually DID watch my uncle die from complications of AIDS back in 1997. I was only 12 at the time. It is an awful way to die!

I was always super careful when it came to having sex with people. I was with my first sexual partner for almost 4 years. And I always thought, as do so many others, that I was careful and could never catch anything, but that's not true! I have had HPV and genital herpes for almost 6 years now. I contracted both of them at 17 years old.

I know being close to my uncle and watching him pass away has made me more open to the whole HIV/AIDS epidemic. So many people are uneducated about the virus and the whole gay community. I hate it when people say it's a "gay disease". I don't think watching someone die from AIDS would help a lot of people though. I think education would benefit them more. If people were educated better about HIV/AIDS and condoms I think the world would have a lot less cases of HIV.

Some people won't change no matter what u show them. Watching someone die from HIV is not pleasant. I took care of a man who was in the last days of his life after Hiv had destroyed his body. It is a vivid memory. I asked his mom if she wanted to help me give her son a bath. I remember her being so gentle and crying the whole time. Some people have to see it to make it real. Some people will deny it forever and nothing u say or show will change their mind.

Few would change.

Face it - even watching a grandparent or relative die a horrific death from smoking doesn't deter folks from smoking ...

HIV and all the other STDs are not things you gamble with. I would protect myself or refuse contact with anyone that did not want to use rubber.

people dieing from HIV are not really people.... just look at them like a dog being put down... we should never care for them and treat them like a leopard....

and you should pick you partners wisely so there are no worries like that

Well, we would not have to see such pain and suffering if people waited to have sex until they got married. Like the Bible says.
