I posted a perfectly reasonable answer earlier as to why do carnivores have to post insults on the vegan/vegetarian questions section. I support anybody's choice on what they eat and I even have a few friends who refuse to eat meat or any animal byproduct. I found it ironic that with that question there were a lot of vegans/vegetarians that were insulting everybody not sharing their views. It seemed pretty hypocritical to me and nearly all but one or 2 people left only minor insults and didn't even leave a real legit, helpful answer. I'm not a carnivore and I'm not a vegetarian, i'm an omnivore, I eat a balnced diet of foods and as far as heart problems, i'm in the military, run about 5 miles a day 3x a week, and generally eat a balanced diet. I like my burgers but I really love Cauliflower and spinach and carrots too. So why ask a question and shoot insults right back at what it was about in the first place?

Sad to say there are EXTREMIST everywhere.
I beleive in your right to eat anything you want too. As I do myself. Also realize many children seem to be on these sites. They are insecure that everyone does not think the way they do..hopefully they'll out grow it & realize only FREEDOM works if everyone has choices.

i've been a vegetarian for four years and honestly, i don't think it's an issue of trying to appear superior or feeling bad about their choices or whatever everyone else is saying. i just think that some (some, not all) vegetarians are unable to get along well with those who eat meat because those who eat meat are supporting the meat industry. and sometimes (sometimes, not necessarily all the time) the meat industry involves inhumane conditions and torture of innocent animals. so some vegetarians may not be comfortable with the large difference in values and yes, sometimes may insult others for their choices.

Whoa thar, hoss! How's about backing that train of thought up to the station again and offloading a few assumptions and generalizations? :-)

I've seen hypersensitive people on both sides of the vegetarian/meat eater equation. Not all vegetarians condemn meat eaters, and not all meat eaters are hostile to vegetarians. There's probably always going to be people who are defensive and aggressive on either side of any issue.

The world has room for everyone. . .now we've just gotta convince 'em of that!

do you know how egg laying chickens are treated and the pain and misery of over milked cows
.. and do they wear leather purses belts shoes wallets and sneakers and waste the animal for the skins? a no no in nature.
and most vegetarians break all the rules. cause its about their health not the animals. vegans are usually only ones true to the whole be kid to nature deal
not everything makes sense. because the ideals are twisted.
native Americans prayed and thanked the buffalo and other animals for giving up their lives for them and were not cruel and used every part no waste. that is true to nature.

people insult others because they want to feel superior and justified for their choices rather than just feeling comfortable with doing what they are doing for their own reasons. even amongst vegetarians, there are many different reasons for choosing this lifestyle. many of us do not attack others for their choices but i have noticed that sometimes in just saying "i don't eat meat" people sometimes jump all over me like i have somehow offended or attacked them. i do not feel it is my right to tell others what to do but would also like it if people left me alone when i passed on the steak at a group dinner.

I'm vegetarian but my husband is an omnivoure. He and my daughter eat meat and I'm fine with that.

Some vegetarians just aren't comfortable with the choice they've made and they need to get militant about it...ignore them. They are idiots.

Eat what you want and enjoy!!!

Because those are the extremists. My mother was a veggie lover, and never expressed any feeling like that. I am not a vegger, but do not hurl insults at or call the veggies crazy or hippies.

it's their perogative i'm no longer a vegetarian i'm also a wild life rehabilitator so i don't eat squirrel. rabbit .veal.deer. or any other baby animal we have the right to have our opinions. if u want to be politically correct we don't do the killing the meat markets are the murderers. but it does state in the bible where we were given permission by God to eat meat.
