I think it has such an effect on me occasionally. I had a home-made soya strawberry smoothie yesterday, and nearly 24 hours later, my stomach is still sore and gurgling. I vomited a couple of times last night and have a burning sensation in the stomach area. I've occasionally had a stomach ache after a soya latte but not as fierce as this one.

The milk was a fresh carton and proper soya milk. My sister had some and she was ok. I have cow's milk, too, but get bloated sometimes, which is why I balance with soya/rice milk, too. I didn't shake the carton, maybe this was the problem.

From my experience I would not consume soy by products, based on the FDA findings, the chance of them being GE modified is 99%. I use organic basmati rice milk, in moderation, I enjoy it, with no side effects. I don't use rice milk to replace calcium intake. If your relying on Cow's milk to provide you with the necessary daily calcium, it won't happen. The goodness of cow's milk is taken out used in cheese and other products, the milk you are drinking, if you read the label, calcium has been added to it, further more, you are exposed to what the cow was injected with, that being: hormones, antibiotics and food pellets that were made from dead carcases.
I use Coral calcium with natural occurring magnesium, it comes in gel capsules or in crystal form. depending on the age, those under the age of 40 should be taking 1200ml gs of calcium daily 40 and over should be taking 2000mil gs, daily after meals, no coffee for one hour before or after.
Coffee leaches vitamins from your system, never drink your vitamins with your coffee and never take all your vitamins at one time. You need to spread them evenly throughout the day. some in the morning and the rest either at lunch or at dinner.

You might want to take each product separately and see how your body reacts to it. Do your own allergy test.

Obviously the soya milk you drank must've been spoiled.
I've never had problems drinking soya milk. I drink it a lot.
It even settles my stomach when I have a stomache. Some
time if I drink too much I get the runs, Well the same thing would happen with regular milk!
Oh watch out for Fake Soya Milk that stuff does give stomach
ache. The fake stuff is all chemicals but it's half the price of the real soya milk. I advise you if you drink Soya Milk make sure it's
the real soya milk!

It's been proven that Soy milk is not the right answer for everyone. Because soy doesn't have calcium, the producer has to add it artificially, along with many other vitamins. Many people aren't aware that Soy milk needs to be shaken thouroughly before drinking it each time. This is because the Soy isn't thick enough to absorb the vitamins and they all collect at the bottom. Once you get to the bottom of the carton, all you're getting is an overload of vitamins...

Of course vitamins are good for you, but when it's an excess like that, it's enough to give anyone a stomach ache!

You might have an allergy to soya, as it sounds you had an allergic response. Have you tried other soya products ie tofu or soyga yoghurt, to see if the same thing happens? If it does you clearly need to avoid soya. You don't have to revert back to dairy - you can get rice, oat and almond milks quite easily. Soya is a very common allergy so don't worry about it.

I have colitis and cannot drink regular milk so I use soy milk. It doesn't bother me at all. However, while I can drink it, it may bother some people. You could have an intolerance or allergy to something in the soy milk or the soy milk used in the drinks you had could have been spoiled. Have you tried drinking soy milk by itself? If you try it, just make sure you shake the container of milk well to ensure everything is mixed up good. If it doesn't bother you, then you know it was something else in the drinks that caused your problem.

Common ingredient that causes this distress...
It's a boiled seaweed used as a thickener in many Veggie Milks, Cheese etc. Carrageenan
Also if the product has Casein in it which is a milk by product & you are allergic to dairy it will give you problems too. Another problem can be you are allergic to Soy..very common.

Make sure you buy only organic soy milk. The stupid government is not
controlling the overzealous use of Roundup by allowing genetically modified
soy beans. They have created a soy bean which doesn't mind being sprayed
with poison so they can harvest more soy beans to feed to us uninformed
public. Don't take the poison.

there is new research evidence out there saying that soya milk is actually toxic.

else, you may be allergic to it, since you suffered from drinking it in the past.

you might have acid reflux that is easily treated with medications like pepsid. another way to help yourself not suffer stomach acid is just by having a bottle of tums in the house--they also contain the most easily digestible form of calcium, which is the most difficult mineral to add to your diet for bone strength. most calcium tablets just do not get absorbed by the bone.

which brings me to another fact: the most absorption of calcium is via milk, real, whole milk, by children age one to 20. that builds strong bones for life.

i really do not understand, unless you are a vegetarian, why you even bother with soya milk.

but do research on the net about the new facts about its toxicity.

personally, i never use a synthesized or even naturally-occurring plant substance like soya as a replacement for anything that is natural, such as sugar, butter, etc. for example, i use only honey as a sweatener, even for my coffee! you acquire a taste for it if you stop using sugar. i love honey, which is one of the most nutricious and curing foods on the planet. research it and find out about its qualities--there are so very many of them. (i also suffer the genetic tendency of psorisis, not contagious but ugly and painful when my skin breaks open into fissures, especially the fingertips [!!!]), so i use only honey-based soaps. and, if the bees died off, in fact, the entire food chain on terra would get destroyed and you would starve to death.
