What do you think they eat, they're not aliens, although this question tends to suggest they are.
I've eaten a McDonald's in Johannesburg, well i was incredibly hungry and desperate. They eat a lot of chicken and fish and rice dishes mainly, good fresh stuff an all, not like the frozen crap you get in the UK.

I got an African friend who keep eating fish (special kind) and blobs of flour and water+ something yellow in it.Also pork.
North African people ( Egypt, Libya, Morocco , Algiers and Tunisia ) eat same as Italian, Turks and Greek but with added rice.

Like a lot of folk have already said, Africa is a big and varied place. Neverthless, yams are very popular south of the equator. Couscous is popular in Morocco and the Sahara region. Dates, figs.

most african people i know love to eat jerk-chicken rice and pea's, but they also eat a wide variety of other foods in some respects it can depent on which part of africa they are from as africa is a continent not a country.............

I know s. africans eat foods similare to indian food. it all depends on the which country!
some poor africans don't even eat...it's sad though.
