You never said what sort of budget you were on but for ease i would suggest a soup ....pumpkin,potato and leek many sorts but light for a 3 course meal is good and a small bowl. Mains again for ease you could cook a roast meat pre slice and have warm in the oven sliced thinly and make sure it has a little water to keep moist and covered with alfoil.I par cook vegetables into a large bowl bright veg such as cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, beans, allow to cool and pop on a few dobs of butter cover with gladwrap and reheat in microwave when needed.Roast potatoes can be par boiled and finished off in a deep fryer...gravy pre-made. Pop it all on the table and allow them to serve themselves.By the time they have got through that a cheese an greens platter should be enough to finish off with with a variety of cheeses, carrot sticks celery sticks, strawberries crackers ,pate etc which can be all pre prepared. Good Luck

If you just moved in, you want to make something fun. Don't go too fancy, make something that seems cool, but isn't difficult to make.
Starter: Chinese Chicken Salad
Salad, romaine leaves, grilled chicken, peanuts, cucumbers, crunchy chow mein noodles, and hoison sauce. and/or
Shrimp Kabob Rolls,
Grilled and/or fried shrimp, squeeze lemon on it, small slices of tomatoes, and roll in lettuce, and make or buy a ranch dipping sauce.
I'm not a main dish person, but what about pasta or lasagna?
Desert: Order, or you can make (if you're good at making cookies) a Bazookie (I'm not sure that's how you spell it) Choose 3 or 4 different flavors of cookies, macadamian nut, chocolate chip, brownie, sugar, pumpkin spice, what ever pleases the crowd. Then add vanilla bean ice cream on each Bazookie, and afterwards make coffee.

Divine Chocolate
Put 2 bars of 80% cocoa Lindt chocolate in a blender and blend. Leave the blender on and pour on one pint of double cream which has been warmed in a saucepan (not boiled). Quickly add one egg yolk.
Pour into smallish glasses and leave to set in the fridge.
If you want you can have a layer of raspberry coulis in the bottom of the glass, or Greek yogurt, or add some alcohol to the chocolate mixture.

first of all, do not plan on a lot in the way of presents. in a number of of situations this is small stuff, plant life, candles, nick-nacks, and so on. So plan the social gathering to that end. Pot success might want to be ok in case you in difficulty-free words invite solid acquaintances, yet being invited to a "social gathering" and requested to convey something is really tacky. maximum received't care, notwithstanding those who do will be verbal about it at the back of your decrease back. an basic suggestion: make small nutrition (sandwiches, and so on.,) chips, and do Wine Coolers, some soda and iced tea. Have mid-afternoon (2-3pm). because you ask in Etiquette you would possibly want to be in touch. So i might want to furnish the refreshments for my travelers completely. a present registry is not in any respect proper for a house warming, (and some say for something else both!). further: when you consider that a number of those human beings truly comprehend truly no longer something about the present registry idea and etiquette, i might want to signify you flow to the library and get a e book on etiquette to tutor that registering isn't proper.
