There currently is no cure for herpes, there is only treatment.

Herpes outbreaks can be controlled by antiviral medication which includes acyclovir tablets (Zovirax), famciclovir tablets (Famvir), valacyclovir tablets (Valtrex), and acyclovir ointment. These medications can control the number of outbreaks a person has and the severity of the outbreaks. Antibiotics will NOT work on herpes. Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial STDs and infections, not viral ones like herpes.

There is currently a herpes vaccine in the process that is suppose to be due out in 2008. So far I haven't heard very good results from it, because it seems to only work in preventing genital herpes and it only works for women. But, I'm sure with time and the advancement of science, some day there will be a cure.

Herpies Cure No, and if anyone finds a cure then , move over Bill Gates cos u will become the richest person on earth...

It is a viral infection that hides in your nervous system, can be passed on thru sexual contact with weeping sores OR not so make sure use condom, that also is not fool proof cos might be away from genitals in some outbreaks...

Genital Herpes is the result of a virus. There is no medication that can kill a virus in the human host without harming the host. The common cold, among others, is a virus and of course there is no cure for the common cold. Treatment is available for herpes as well as other viruses, but no cure. That is exactly why no one wants to acquire any virus. Some viruses run their course and the body can manage them-like the common cold but herpes is more difficult for the body to manage. It may be contained and controlled at times but it remains forever in the body. When the immune system is compromised by something as simple as stress or the Flu, the herpes virus will take advantage of that and recur. Prevention is the key. Don't acquire it in the first place.

I'm pleased to disagree with all these naysayers, there IS a cure!

And it's not some kind of chemical, "make the pharmeceutical companies rich" kind of cure either! The herbs Pau de Arco and Una de Gato will cure herpes, or at least put it into remission for years and years. Take like three capsules of each (or even one cup of tea made with both) three times a day, or see a herbal specialist who can give you a more personal recommendation. You'll need to stay on this regimen for like six months, but it does work.

I've seen it myself. My friend was very concerned about having her first baby knowing she had herpes. I hooked her up with herbalists I know who got her set up with high quality herbs. She used them faithfully and was highly relieved when she didn't experience a stress induced outbreak at childbirth. As a matter of fact, she's never had an outbreak since (it's been almost nine years.)

It is also helpful to know Louise Hay's advice regarding the treatment and cure of herpes:

Probable internal cause:
Mass belief in sexual guilt and the need for punishment. Public shame. Belief in a punishing God. Rejection of the genitals.

New healing thought pattern:
My concept of God supports me. I am normal and natural. I rejoice in my own sexuality and in my own body. I am wonderful.

Thoughts become things, choose good ones. :)

Good luck!
Gwen

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).

Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.

The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid?such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

Luckly there is a cure for herpes https://tr.im/2j5f6

nope sorry. There are 2 types of herpes, gential herpes and cold sores/fever blisters that most people get close to their mouths.

Despite what people say, there is no cure and just because you may not have an outbreak for years with medication, you still have it and can transmit it to anyone at anytime.

Sorry there is no cure. There are ways to suppress it though. You can talk to your doctor about it and he would probably put you on a daily suppressive therapy with either Valtrex or Zovirax. They wont be as frequent or as severe as time passes. You can also try and stay away from caffeine and stress as those two tings can bring an outbreak on.
