Well it's good that you care about your friend but try not to be too harsh. I'm a vegan and I would be really unhealthy if i didn't resaerch what a vegan needs to be healthy, she probably didn't educate herself enough before she stopped eating meat. I think a lot of vegetarians and vegans(myself included) go through a phase where we eat junk and not enough healthy stuff. If you really care(and I'm sure you do since you asked this question) voice your concerns and maybe make a vegetaian meal you can share and show her you can eat well as a vegetarian or go to an ethnic restauarant( Indian is a good choice) which has really good vegetarian food. Maybe suggest a cookbook. Since she's not a vegan she can be more flexible but she could be eating mac and cheese and spaghetti out of convience, sometimes I eat junky stuff when I'm hungry just b/c it's simple and brainless well I hope this helps

I think the word is ignorant, because she does not know how to choose foods correctly. If you know you should tell her about how to mix different kinds of vegetables to get the complete protein your body needs. Stupid implies she is incapable of learning. Tell her what she should be doing or ask her to check with another more experienced vegetarian.
If she doesn't eat right she will have some severe nutritional problems - it is not as easy as just eating meat which has it all. Eating just pasta will make her fat and undernourished. She needs help not criticism. If she doesn't take good advice then she is stupid. Now it is just ignorance.

Your friend needs some education. Sure you can eat nothing but french fries all day long and say you're a vegetarian but it doesn't mean it's good for you.
So to answer your question. No, your friend isn't stupid for being a vegetarian. She's stupid for being... well stupid

It is good to be a vegetarian but it is bad to stop taking everything. If we just ourselves with only carbohydrates and fats we are definite to get ill. We just end our ourselves in malnutrition. Actually not taking meat or other animal products except milk is called vegetarianism. Please consult a dietitian or a vegetarian to know about what is vegetarianism. I guess she has a wrong opinion about it.

Well, she is being like most Americans who eat a completely unbalanaced and unhealthy diet. It just happens that hers doesn't contain any meat. Remember, giving up meat doesn't necessarily mean suddenly she will be eating a ton of fruits and veggies if she never did before. Most people that eat meat need to eat more fruits and veggies, too. She's just continuing old eating habits minus the meat. If you are concerned you should help her out by giving her tips on quick, good-tasting ways to include these foods in her diet that aren't too unappealing to the standard American palate.

It does not sound like she is eatting healthy at all. Scary.. she is expecting her auto(Body) to run on water instead of gas.
70% 0f her diet should be veggies, & half of them raw.
The rest should be filled with fruit, nuts, legumes, then the starchy carbs like pasta, rice(BROWN RICE).

she probably needs to just make a conscious effort to learn to like more veggies. A vegetarian diet is extremely healthy as long as it is balanced correctly (as is any diet).

If that is all she is eating .. it is not a good diet. No protein from nuts ? .. No fruit or veggies ? She won't feel very good soon enough. Good Luck ! :)

yeah that is not very smart as she is NOT getting all the nutrients her body needs. Im not sure what you would call her diet ( other than unhealthy ) but it is NOT vegetarian.
