My daughter wants to stop drinking milk. She is already at the point where she will eat only chicken, and dairy products.

I don't eat meat, but my family goes through a gallon of milk a day. I can't afford Rice milk even soy is way too much.

I was heard of a farm that claimes because their animals are treated so great ( i guess up unitl the slaughter part) the meat actually tasted better because the animals were "happy"

Maybe there is a small farm around I can check into.

I was raised on a dairy farm in Iowa.

We treated our cows with a lot of care and they did not seem to mind when we switched over from milking them by hand to milking machines.

They were grass fed with grain supplements and led a peaceful and drug free life.

But, we were a small organic farm. I can't speak for the huge dairy farms.

Hope this helps....you might try seeing if there any Amish farms nearby and visit them...and make your own conclusions.

No, even organic dairy is cruel to thecow some how. Even if the cow is not not hurt or tortured in the process of retrieving the milk... what about the calf? The calf that ends up on a veal farm. Or that doesnt get the milk that is intended for him.

A cow was designed to feed and nourish an animal that weighs over 1000 pounds. I have a feeling that you are not in fact that heavy. We woke up one day, pointed at some animal and said “Hey, Lets drink from that” Odd, don’t you think. The reason so many people are lactose intolerant is simply because humans were never meant to feed from a cow’s udder. Just something to think about.

To put it simply... No... The milk the cows give are for the calves. Any milk you steal from the mother should have gone to the calf. Do we go around pumping milk out of womyn? Wouldn't that seem cruel to you? Why is pumping it out of a cow any different? Let the calf have her milk and stick to juice or water.

Well I think the only real way to know is find a dairy farm that claims to be organic, research it and ask questions, A lot of places claim to be cruelty-free and they are not.(to be 100% visit PETA's website and email them and ask) Are you thinking of becoming vegan? If u are it's a great lifestyle

Yes, I grew up drinking whole milk and eating BEEF! I also belong to a group called "PETA" (People for the eating of tasty animals) People like you are crazy! I'll bet you eat eggs and drink milk, you probably eat Ice cream also! So take your weird ideas elsewhere/.
