It questions need some clarity. Specifically "people of what time"? Since HIV/AIDS is now and for the past 25 years or so.
HIV itself is both epidemic and pandemic. Two diseases that may be associated with the HIV diagnosis are, for example, TB and Hepatitis. There are more diseases and conditions that are associated with HIV but these are likely the most well known.
