i became a vegetarian in the fall of 1999... i was working with some kids on a project about the animal shelter...and the kids were wanting to go kill the lady that put dogs to sleep...(extreme reaction!) even though i told them she loved animals very much.... and was doing it for their own good.... keeping them from being on the streets where people used to run dogs down on purpose in that small county..... anyway...i said that in ohter countries they eat dogs and in some countries they think its very wrong to eat cows... and then bang ...in my head it was like...if i eat meat i might as well be eating my dog..... and i couldn't do it anymore..... i still get tempted sometimes by meat but know in reality if i tried to eat it ..that it would make me sick....

I became a vegetarian at 4. The reason was I loved animals and when I ask my mother where meat came from she told me. So since I love animals why would I eat them. I became a vegetarian ever since I'm 34 now and don't even miss meat.

i became a vegetarian about a year ago,when i became a muslimha, and the meat here is not right here so now i eat alot of good veggie food,and also feel better in health.

I was 13 (17 years ago) & I started learning about animal rights. Plus, I didn't really enjoy eating meat. It was an easier, less stressful lifestyle that I chose.

When I found out I was diabetic. Why? Because I wanted to lose weight and get healthy again. Know what? It worked.
