What you have to do is gather more information about what is going on with your body. Do you know how to take your pulse? I am including a helpful website if you don't. Count the number of beats for 1 full minute. The number should be between 60 to 100 beats per minute. Now you have to figure out how long the "thumping" lasts. Is it 5 minutes, 15 minutes, a half an hour? Keep a log book and record all the information and be sure to include time of day and what you where doing before these episodes happen. If you have a blood pressure machine at home you can take a blood pressure at the time of the episode. you want your blood pressure to be not greater than 140 systole (high number) and not greater than 90 diastole (low number.) Also is it possible that you have some anxiety, or bad nerves? Sometimes an anxiety attack can cause the heart to race and make you scared. Keep a log so that you have something to show your doctor and maybe you can work together to solve this problem.

What you're experiencing is normal. When you first stand up, walk or wxercise, your heart rate and blood pressure will increase to pump more blood to your working muscles. This effect will be even more noticeable if you are in poor physical condition and you will notice it even when you turn over in bed. You have nothing to fear from this and many sources of research now show many health benefits from even low levels of exercise.

Get your sinuses checked...I know it doesnt sound like sinuses could do this but mine are so bad then when I stand things go black and I have to wait a minute for things to clear...it sounds like you have pressure in you head most likely caused by your sinuses...Good luck and I hope you feel better!
