When I encounter bad information like that, I usually address it in my answer and explain why it's wrong. It's up to the asker to determine which responses seem to be the most reliable. If the person in question gives one line answers and you can give a more detailed response, hopefully your answers will be given more weight (or at least give the asker a good place to start from when doing their own research.) If you have a source that you can cite that backs up your contention that this person is incorrect, that would help, too. And if your answers are as well-written as your question, I would guess that most askers would naturally give some weight to your answer. Hopefully most people would also realize that a true medical professional is highly unlikely to be giving trite, one sentence answers. I don't know that you'll get very far contacting the person you're talking about, though it might be worth a try.

Contacting this person puts him(her) on the defensive and things can get nasty, such as accusations of harassment.
I think you should just let it go. Anyone who takes advise from Q&A, message boards, chat rooms, blogs, or anything else on the net that has no guaruntee of getting the correct information, takes a risk at getting some very mixed answers and even some very wrong ones.
I can see your concern that somebody is going to get hurt, but you will drive yourself nuts if you worry about it. These people are not your responsibility. Just do the best you can with your own answers and hope for the best.

I think that people need to realize that the answerers on this site are not licensed psychologists or medical professionals but just people. Anyone can say they are a doctor or a therapist on the internet and you have no way of believing it. Some people enjoy impersonating officials for their own amusement and advice given on important matters from this site should always be taken with a grain of salt. Questioners are urged to go to the doctor and get a licensed medical professional's opinion on health issues!
I think that contacting this person will do little good, but it may shame them into stopping.

If I were you, I'd contact them but be tactful.
Or if you don't want to do that, report them for abuse. Vote a thumbs down on their answer.
On the internet, anyone of us can say that we're anything we want. I could tell you that I'm a doctor, but I'm not. It is a dangerous thing to constantly do this to anyone (give bad advice) but it's just as dangerous to let it continue.

I'd say yes, but don't be surprised if the person doesn't care or gets upset...chances are they are simply trolling for points and don't care whether or not the answers they give are accurate.

Yes. You can click on the flag and report "abuse." Just scroll down and select option "other" and type in your concerns. If it doesn't stop, then contact the person directly.

If you report abuse on them, and you said they answer the same questions as you, then they can do likewise...to your answers. I think enough right answers will outweigh their bad advice.
