Each month after my period I get one annoying, somewhat painful bump that is in the same spot each time. Its about the size of a zit and when I looked at it is is almost like a boil where it is indented in the middle. There is no puss or discharge from it. Since I had children, I am unable to wear tampons so I'm assuming it's my pad rubbing a sore? Could this be it? Should it be something I should be concerned about? Only asking because I found out my ex was a big pimp and I highly doubt he used protection! I did have an STD screening about 6 months ago but this has since started after that. Should I get checked again to be on the safe side?

Where is the bump? It might be a Bartholin's gland cyst if its located on one of the labia (lips of your vagina) near the opening of the vagina (at about 4 and 8 o'clock, if you were looking at the face of a clock). We all have Bartholin's glands, that excrete fluids to lubricate the vagina, and occassionally they get clogged. When they do, they can be painful, and likely need to be drained.

On the other hand, if you've hand sex without using barrier prophylaxsis like a condom, and maybe even if you have, you may have contracted the HPV virus - genital warts. Also, HSV - herpes sometimes flares around the time of a woman's period.

Either way, I do think you should be checked out - good luck!

sounds like it could possibly hsv. but if you get tested you have to specifically ask for that test to be done. i would just go back and take more test. the doctor should help if you go when you have the bump. that way you have an option to take a culture or blood test. hsv is common. i wouldnt really focus on it too much until i went to the doctor. main focus should be getting rid of that annoying pain. you dont need to go through that every month. that's not fair.

honey ya should get checked again, possibility is that you may have a genital wart. But truely check with your doctor and get a clear answer and ask questions if you have too, never hurts to ask question. You would need to know before anything worst happens.

I get those sometimes as well. I think they're just ingrown hairs. If you're worried you might want to check with the doctor.
