I was suffering from a tight pain in my chest and become tired. This had been going on for a while but is getting worse now. I went to the doctor today, and he said my blood pressure was very high and he took some tests to figure out why. I don't do drugs, eat healthy, take vitamins, and exercise at leat 3 times a week. Its, likely my problem is from high stress from school, work, and life. He said he didnt know why my bp was so high for someone my age and condition. What could cause me to have high bp, stress or something else?

Hi Sammy

Here are a few answers.

At any age heavy meat eaters will have a higher blood pressure than vegetarians. There is actually no hard and fast rule on blood pressure

Cause:
High Blood Pressure: There is a thickening of the blood from catarrhal and excess glutinous and fibrinous matters loading the circulatory system. Generally there is a clogging of the bowel with putrid body waste, making it necessary to cleanse the excretory systems in order to purify the blood.

Low blood and high blood pressure are both due to malfunction of the circulatory system. High blood pressure in many cases works just like low blood pressure. Cholesterol must be eliminated from the system in order to get the blood flowing more freely. The condition is brought about by improper diet, insufficient rest and exercise and a lack of vitality within the system.

Herbal Aids:
1. High Blood Pressure: With high blood pressure, cholesterol and mucus form a sludge within the body. Avoid the mucus-forming foods and take herbs that act as a solvent by liquefying impurities such as cayenne, garlic or sassafras. Take cayenne, working up to a teaspoon three times a day. This increases the power of the heart and corrects the circulation problems. Garlic in copious amounts will bring down high blood pressure. Pure tomato juice is very good as a nutritional and a medicinal herb. Wheat germ oil is excellent for feeding the heart and helps cut the cholesterol and smoothens its removal from the area. Avoid the use of liquor and tobacco, do not keep late hours, and avoid over-tiredness and worry. There is an intricate inter-relationship between ones living habits and his body condition.

Best of health to you.

Cheers

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

High blood pressure can result from a variety of things.

1. Does your family have a history of high blood pressure? If you have one or more direct family members that have high bp, then you might be predisposed to it.

2. Is there a lot of stress in your life? If you have a stressful school schedule compounded by a stressful work schedule, this can raise your blood pressure, also.

To fix this problem, try to eat a diet that is full of fruits and vegetables (and low in red, fatty meats), and try to get at least 30 minutes of excersize each week. Also, include at least 30 minute a day of "you" time - like sitting in a quiet room and reading, or listening to calm music. Anything that can help relax you.

Dont at this point rely on just any advise no matter how well sounding, however my wife after showing some tiredness at some periods in her life tried and found iron suppliments worked. BUT bounce any good suggestions off your doc first.

Check out www.hufa.org, the symptoms link. I would bet you have the same precursor condition as hypoglycemics - which is high insulin (hyperinsulinemia). It is a pre-diabetic condition. Do you come from a family of diabetics, perchance?

Also reduce your salt intake. That means lunch meats and pizzas too........they are loaded with salt. Try taking walks.
