Why are you vegetarian? If it's for health or ethical reasons you have to be strong! Distract yourself!
And if your body wants protein there are plenty of other sources aside from dead pig flesh to try :-)
Vegetarian bacon is available from the Redwood Company, Vege Deli - available in Holland and Barretts, and Tesco and most supermarkets do their own version - and yes there is Quorn bacon alternative!

You can make one with Quorn bacon, dripping in oil and covered in HP sauce, it will be just as good I promise!

I don't know why you're a veggie, or how strong your convictions are, but if you give in you might instantly regret it.

Also think about what people would say. When I was much younger I got very very drunk one night and my friends though it would be funny to feed me some chicken, one of them literally held my mouth open, I was too far gone to fully process what was going on and just swallowed it down. They always bring it up now, saying I'm not a proper vegetarian anymore (and it was 5 years ago, come ON!) which is really nasty but you'd be surprised how many meat eaters will jump at the chance to "take us down a notch". My friend had exactly the same thing happen to her once- and as an added bonus, she was very ill for days after.

Stick with the Quorn every time.

Ask yourself whether or not you still think it's worth denying yourself the pleasure - why did you become vegetarian in the first place, and does that reason or reasons still have meaning for you. If it doesn't then there's no shame in going back to meat eating, your choices are your own and no one should criticise you for it. If it's just a bit of a wobble and you're still committed then stay strong - remember the reasons why you became a veggie and that should see you through the temptation.

If you're going to stick with vegetarianism, then woohoo for sticking with it, and maybe try a veggie bacon substitute - it's not much like the real thing but it just might scratch that itch for you!

your body is craving minerals which you need to get from eating raw food. When you eat some spinach, kale or other greens your cravings will disappear. Minerals, nutrients and enzymes all are killed at 45 derees celcius/115 f, so if you are eating all cooked then your body craves nutrients and it you are so unused to eating natural raw foods because you don't eat them so you just crave meat coz your body knows no better!
that's why thousands of people like me switch to an all raw diet and it changes your life! I was vegan for 10 years with meat cravings all the time, what a nightmare! guess what the day i went onto a 100% raw food diet the cravings have gone and have never come back. The thought of meat makes me want to puke instead of making me want to eat!

Bacon Style quorn is good and morning star streaky strips are lovely too, Cook them in a little olive oil, serve in mothers pride style, spongey white supermarket loaf or if you are from the North east of England a quarter cut from a 'stottie*' - preferably from 'Greggs' (rounded indigenous loaf from the region*) and lashings of brown sauce , take it from auntie Andie, mmm it sure beats the cr*p out of a bacon sarnie honey!!!!

So, if you have been a veggie for ever why the appeal and obsession with something you've never tasted ?

Do you also have a craving for weedrat stew ?

Make sure you don't chip your teeth on the bolt they used to murder it.

...well, i'm back here after 7 hours...did you eat the bacon, do tell us in your comments....

That's 'cos you're not really a vegetarian. Someone told you lots of nasty stories about lambs playing in the fields and fluffy bunnies and you suddenly decided to become a vegetarian.
Either you are or you aren't. Craving for bacon sounds a bit weird to me.

Then Why do you fancy one?

I always doubt the voracity of the use of the term 'for ever' or even, 'forever.' Mostly because the majority of people who use it have no real concept of what it means ~ particularly when someone (or some company) claims that 'this is the best album for ever' ....as if they can see into the future (and if they can, then they are in the wrong business).

Sash.

Buy some vegetarian bacon. It sounds daft, but I've had some years ago. I have no idea if they still make it, and tasted not much like the real thing, but was pretty good for a substitute.

We all have setbacks in our life. So this is yours. I am sure there is an alternative but it wont taste the same. Dripping with fat, and containing dead pig. Have I put you off yet, (no) just think of the noise they make when they are alive, then think of the noise they make when they are having their throats slit. Still want one. I Do.
