The only thing close to it is novolog. thats the best i can do for you and its probably wrong.

Sorry to say that there are no generics for insulin. If there are, I haven't seen them and I've been diabetic since I was six. (Let's just say that it was more than 35 years ago).
I also agree that Humalog and Humulin R are VERY different. The Humalog is the short acting insulin that you were referring to. Humulin R is still shorter acting but not as quick as Humalog.

not yet. That came out in the early 90's so maybe soon. R would be the closest, but not as good as the new stuff. R is the same formula as the first insulin back in the 1920's

I do not think there are generic brand insulins, i was looking for generic insulin and the pharmacy told me they never heard of generic insuln.

I am actually a diabetic myself. If you go to your local pharmacy ask for Humulin R (Lilly makes it) and that's what I use. You can get this without a prescription.

With all drugs, it depends on how long it has been on the market. A drug has to be on the market for at least 16 years for there to be a generic. Ask your pharmacist about generics and their availability.

no way is r the same or as good as humolog, my endocrinologist gives me humolog samples on every visit, they get em free and give em to me.
