Whenever I take a DEEP breath 90% of the time I get an ache in the middle finger of my left hand.

I've tested it many times, it's not my imagination. Weird or what?

I cycle and am quite fit and have a fairly low resting pulse (55), high blood pressure in family history (mother) but mine is normal.

I'm not taking any drugs or medications. I eat a fairly healthy diet.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Carpal Tunnel or a picnh nerve
One of the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome CTS is pain in the middle finger, pain in the hand, pain in the shoulder radiating down the arm while sleeping.
Try taking Vit B Complex twice a day, wear a wrist brace at night, put ice under your wrist when you get thiose pains, try taking aspirin. The nerve that goes thru the wrist is being aggravated by wear and tear. Either with PC and mouse use or at work or your job.
Find an article on CTS and read about it.

Probably an over-use problem of the middle finger on the left hand

Seriously, I would go to an experienced Acupuncturist. He should be able to regulate the flow of energy to sooth this feeling, probably in one session. Those who doubt acupuncture are usually proved wrong when they give it a shot. If you have no other ideas, seriously, go for this one.

That is an example of related pain. It can be really weird...I have one that whenever my husband (or anyone) rubs my calf I get a stabbing pain in the back of my head like a pin prick.

I go with the related pain answer, you might want to see a chiropractor. A good adjustment does amazing things for all kinds of problems.

most likely nothing, if you are really concerned about it get it x-rayed but I suggest just living with it until it goes away.
