YES Spinach is a Green; More in the Leafy Green stuff..
Kale, Swiss Chard, Escarole,Beet Greens, Collard, Mustard, Turnip Greens, Cabbage, Bok Choy, Watercress, Romaine, all the Lettuces in fact. Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts etc.
These are all low calorie & super in Vitamins The darker greens are high in Iron.
Some of these are milder than others, try different ones to see what you like. MY favs are Swiss chard, Escarole, Beet Greens, Bok Choy, Lettuces.
Luck with your new diet sure sounds healthy!

Greens are from green leafy vegetable plants that are not spinach or lettuce.

Some varieties are kale, turnip greens, mustard greens, and of course the most important of all, collard greens.

The leaves of the broccoli plant are also greens.

You must scrub the greens well, and break up the fibers to tenterize them. They must be cooked for an extended time so that they are tender. When they are done, hot sauce and vinegar are used as condiments to spice them up a little.
