I've been known to yell and kick when my blood sugar was very low. I do not remember though. :)

That is a trait of a diabetic. The blood sugar has to be within certain limits or else it throws the body out of whack.
If he is a diabetic he needs to be under a good doctor's care and he desperately needs to keep his sugar within certain ranges. 80 to 120 is normal.
My dad cycled from ok to angry at the drop of a hat. It took years before some doctor told him he was a diabetic. At 59 he had to have both legs removed just below the knee. So.....it is VERY important for you son to STRICTLY control his blood sugar. Good luck. Pops

Yes. I am very easily angered when my glucose is too high. Unlike a the majority of diabetics (I am a Type I) I don't get angry when too low. That, I discovered is rare.
EMTs explained to my husband once that they bring police officers to any call that involves a hypoglycemic diabetic because they tend to rage and even physically attack. The reason is that when a person is hypoglycemic long enough, adrenaline floods their system to get them to take some action. In effect, this then kicks off the "fight or flight" syndrome.
I am not sure why high glucose does that, although emotions are sent off whack by it.

I was diagnosed when I was 2 and now I am 25 and especially when I hit puberty my mood swings were ad with blood sugars fluctuating, but even now when I am hungry, or when my blood sugar is too high I can get irritable.

Yes, was dating someone for 7 years that was exactly like this. He would not do anything to keep his sugar controlled so the anger was almost always there. That is why we are no longer together. Good luck.

My son who is 8 has diabetes. When his sugar is low he doesn't really get grouchy but weak. High is another story. He gets very grouchy and mean! Of course he has his moments when he is just being a kid but 90% of the time he is acting up and I make him test he is high. It messes with their emotions and brain function.

I was the same. When I got hungry, the blood sugar got too low and I became cranky. Several of my friend were the same. Should become better after he grows order.

Glucose level and mood can interact. Also stress of any sort, such as a cold, emotional stress, fatigue, physical injury etc. can impact glucose level.
You and your son have my sympathy. The big D hit me about 10 years ago, like a bolt from the blue.

YES! My poor husband calls it being at the "Nasty level". I get mean like a bratty child. I get weepy too and there is nothing I can do about it! Except to try and ward off sugar swings in the first place.
