Yes children can absolutely get HPV. Most HPV cases are genital infections though. So, changing him or taking a bath most likely will not cause him to get the virus from you.

If you are really concerned you can always wear a bathing suit bottom or something covering your genital area. Since HPV can be spread by just skin to skin contact, you wouldn't want him accidentally rubbing against your genital area.

Chances are really low that you will spread it to him. But, when it comes to infants and children you really never can be too careful!

Just so you know, many women have HPV and do not know it until they have a pap done. I have it and I have never been sexually irresponsible (except with my husband). I don't think that you have anything to be worried about concerning your child.

HPV can cause cervical cancer, though. Now that you know that you have it, it is even more important for you to have your yearly exams on time. You should really check out a website that can tell you more about STD's. Also, talk with your doctor. He can give you alot more information and can help ease some of your fears.

It has to be dirrect contact as it only survives for a couple of seconds away from the skin. So unless your son is touching you up you should be fine.
