I have called my doctor for an appointment which will take 3-4 days :(

if your doctor is aware that you have herpes he should feel comfortable prescribing medication to you over the phone, you may want to ask about this. the meds need to be on board fairly early in an outbreak if they are going to be effective at all, preferably before the lesions appear. sounds like it is too late, if you wait 4 more days you will be well into this outbreak and the medication will do little, if anything, for you

Talk to the pharmacist and see if you can put "Abreva" on him---it depends on how old he is.

I assume you are talking about a cold sore on his mouth?
