Yes.
AIDS is defined by infection with HIV plus an "AIDS-defining illness" (P. carnii pneumonia, for instance) and/or a CD-4 count less than 200.
It is possible that you could have AIDS (as defined above), then be treated to a point where you still have HIV but no longer meet the definition of AIDS.

No, sorry it does not. HIV is a virus that causes the disease of AIDS which stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. HIV stands for the name of the virus human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1, HIV-2), a retrovirus that causes immune system failure and debilitation. The virus grows until the disease state of AIDS occurs in which case there is no cure or "turning back" as you asked. Hope this helps. Good luck on your paper!

No, HIV is the virus that leads to AIDS. AIDS does not turn back into a virus. With proper treatment you can slow down the affect of HIV or AIDS

i think i know what you are asking, HIV is was cause aids, the rule at one time was that when your t-4 count drops below 200 then you have aids, with proper treatment you can raise your count above 200, I am HIV+ myself and when i got below 200 t-4 count, they said i had aids, today my t-4 count is 1347 and i am just HIV+.

Yes, if you get your CD4 cells numbres up and your viral load down then yes you can turn it back to HIV. But if AIDS has progressed then it could be hard.
