This pain is probably upper gastrointestional in nature but if it does not go away after taking antacids or lasts longer than 10 minutes and is accopmanied by shortness of breath then you need a cardiac workup. I am an ICU nurse, just because you are hooked to a heart monitor does not mean that the doctor or nurse can tell if you have heart problems. Some heart attacks are what is called non q wave and will not even show up on an ekg. Please, for your children get checked out . Whatever it is you are catching it early if you go now. Good luck.

For a young woman with 2 children I wouldn't chance anything. Hun for no other reason than your kids, Please see a Dr. I have had 2 heart attacks and I am 45 and all the Docs have told me, if any woman has pain above her waist she should have it checked out. as far as being hooked to a heart monitor, if you weren't having the pains at the time it may not have shown it. I don't mean to scare you, just inform you. Good Luck and my best regards KG

a friend of mine just had a similar episode and she went to the ER thinking it was a possible heart attack.

She didn't have a rash but it is common to with the infection. ( I can't remember the name) She had a burning sensation like it was under the skin.

It ended up being a viral infection and is associate with a herpes virus and it can be contagious through the rash.

This is one option, but it doesn't sound like a heart attack to me.

If you are feeling a burning pain, you should go to your doctor as you could even have a blood clot, esp since you just had surgery. God bless.

If you just had surgery and you are feeling this pain and didn't have it b4, I would recommend going in and getting checked out as soon as you can........It may be nothing, but its best to be sure.
