i wouldn't be headed for the er just yet. your blood sugar can spike really high right after a meal---remember, if you're a diabetic you have trouble keeping blood sugar low--that's what the disease is.

i'm thinking that the doctor will be more concerned if your fasting blood sugar is over 120 than if your blood sugar right after mcdonalds is 205.

but hey, i'm no doctor----i'm just a type II diabetic who sruggles every day to keep the blood sugar right on 100.

Okay, first of all, a sugar of 205 DOES NOT constitute a bed in the ER. For all of you who are calling this poor person a moron, I think you should re-evaluate your position and read a book. There are people walking around out there with sugars much higher and for much longer. 205 is high. If you are young, you especially, should be able to digest a McGriddle and not have a peak like that in your blood sugar. Usually the physician will do 3 things. One, he/she will schedule you for a fasting glucose tolerance test. This test looks at how your body handles the sugar you consume. Second, he/she will order a Hemoglobin A1C test. This test will give your physician an idea of how your blood sugar has been running over the course of 4 months or so. your A1C should be under the 6-7 range. The higher the number, the longer your sugars have been elevated. Lastly, your physician will more than likely order a BMP/CMP. This test looks at your body's electrolyte function, kidney function and sometimes liver function at a basic level and evaluates the need for further study. Diabetes is a disease that affects ALL of your body systems.
As far as the poor circulation goes, this may be a sign that you have a neuropathy, especially if you have diabetes. Neuropathy is a common problem with your nerve endings that occurs most commonly in your feet and hands and is easily treated once a diagnosis is made. If it is not neuropathy, and poor circulation is suspect, then, generally it is wise to have a cardiac work up. These are a series of blood tests and simple tests like doppler flow studies, and stress tests that give the physician an idea of how well your heart is pumping and how your vascular system is doing.
In the mean time, relax. I would suggest doing some of these things until you meet your physician:
1. STOP EATING MC DONALDS AND RENT SUPERSIZE ME McDonalds is one of the worst acts of domestic terrorisim ever. That food is filled with bad sugars, cholesterols, and trans fats. All of this food is stuff that you should avoid
2. Exercise. You said that you do this, so you are already on a good path
3. Drink a lot of water. Hydration is key in all of these issues
4. Prepare your food at home when you can. The ADA and AHA both have great web sites with tips on healthy eating.
5. Go to the ER if you lose you begin to notice an increase in urination, extreme thirst, weight loss and weakness. YOU WILL feel bad with this.

Good luck. I hope all goes well with you.

I don't have anything to say that hasn't been said, but I just want to weigh in to conteract some of the bad advice that's been put here.
First off, you don't need to go to the hospital, 205 is high, but definately not high enough that you need to be hospitalized.
Secondly, you have diabetes, and it needs to be treated. Sounds like you've already seen your doctor, which is a good first step, but you're going to need some kind of treatment even if it's only proper diet (no more Mcgriddles) and exercise.

Shaddup about the hospital visit for a 205. I do 205 blindfolded, sheez!

205 is nothing. I'd hardly consider that a diabetic bg after a McGriddle. Normal (non-diabetics) people will shoot higher.

Normal blood sugar is 80-110. There are several factors that can lead to a higher rate.....was the test done after fasting or after a high calorie, high carbohydrate meal.
Contact your Doctor if you have a fasting blood sugar of 205. Type 2 diabetes can be treated with diet in most cases if your numbers are this low.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

205 is considered high. ur blood sugar after eating should be around 150. at the highest. making an appointment is a good idea. and poor circulation co-exists with diabetes. in the meantime, be careful, check ur feet often for cuts, and make sure u rub some lotion on ur legs to promote circulation.
