I'm 27 yrs old, 5 ft. 6 in., weigh 154 lbs and want to lose about 25lbs. I go to school and already get up at 5:30 am. I work out around 10am or 11 am. I need to know what I should eat for breakfast and lunch. I need these to be "to go" and I am a vegetarian. (I will eat eggs in foods, but I don't like the taste of them to eat them plain.) Also, what about pre-and post workout foods? Please keep in mind that I am a very strict vegetarian, I do eat eggs and dairy. Thanks for any good tips!

Strict vegetarians do not eat eggs or dairy. You are a lacto-ovo vegetarian..

Eat only whole grains (pasta, bread, cereal) and avoid refined foods.

Breakfast- Try eating fruits like apples, oranges, water melons etc. Also you can have a lil bit of cereal with milk. If you want also stir fry some veggies with some sprouts....so that will make for a less caloried, yet wholesome, filling and nutritious breakfast. This breakfast will have good quantities of complex carbs, proteins and fats. If it is "to go" then you can make a wrap out of all veggies and sprouts and carry some cut fruits in a bowl.

Lunch - Can be slightly be heavy. You can eat stir fried with very little veggies with some soup etc. Try to keep the lunch slightly light. You can also have some brown or whole grain bread or brown rice. This if again is "to go" then try the wrap or put the veggies in the bread and you can eat them on your way out.

Make sure that you have a piece of fruit before workout. After workout you can eat some carb rich food!!!

I too am a busy vegetarian. I normally travel with a couple different granola bars (I like the NatureValley bars, they do not use any chemicals or dyes that are animal based). Those give me a great start in the morning, and the neccessary carbs to maintain my energy levels. If you are working out early, I would avoid any protiens before your work out, because they will really slow your body down with the digestive process. I also like to drink a protein/energy shake a couple mornings a week. Trader Joe's, Henry's Market, and Sprouts Market all have some great organic vegan powdered shake mixes. I like to do the unflavored or fruit flavored with a orange juice, sometimes the chocolate with soy milk, but it's a little heavy. For lunch, if you have access to a frige/microwave, I recommend anything from Morningstar Farms (veggie corndogs, veggie burgers, chik 'n nuggets). You just need to keep them cool before you eat them, then microwave them for lunch. If you dont have "cold storage" for your lunch, I would say soup (if you have a microwave). I try not to eat out for lunch, but the veggie sub at Subway is good and reasonably priced, and they will totally load up your sandwich with veggies.
