You should be checked every 3 - 6 months. Especially if you are sexually active or an I.V drug user. After you first results even if negative go again in another 6 months. They test by mouth swab or by giving blood.

You can be tested for HIV every three to six months if you have high risk behaviors. If you are concerned and you participate in risky things, you might want to modify your lifestyle.

HIV tests are now in two forms, a blood test and an oral fluid swab. The swab is cheaper.

every 3-6 months if you are doingthings to become in contacted with the virus such as sharing needles and getting home or jail tattoos and piercing etc.. you can go to your local clinic most places test for free
