i might add here that even though hcv is a liver disease, it does affect the other organs! hcv only needs the liver to reproduce it's double stranded rna virons. each cycle a new, genetically changed batch of virons are being sent out, hence the nature of chronicity with having hcv.

anyway you can think of as to how a person could get infected blood into their bloodstream is how you can get hcv.

vets have a real high population of infection due to mass innoculation (same with many children as well as they did mass innoculate in the 70's)

hope this helped!

Hepatitis C is a blood-borne virus that causes inflammation of the liver. It is most often transmitted through sharing needles, syringes and other equipment during drug use. There is currently no cure for hepatitis C and no vaccine to prevent it, however, there are ways to alleviate the symptoms and drug therapy is successful for some people.

A range of activities can lead to hepatitis C. Most people in Australia are infected by sharing drug injecting equipment. An increased risk of hepatitis C is also associated with:

Tattooing and body piercing using unsterilised equipment.
Sharing razor blades or toothbrushes.
Health care work where there is exposure to blood.
Kidney dialysis.
Blood transfusions given before 1990.

People with hepatitis C may show only mild, flu-like symptoms, or no symptoms at all. Symptoms that do appear include:
Dark-coloured urine
Jaundice - when skin and the whites of the eyes go yellow.
If you have these symptoms, see your doctor, who will give you a blood test for hepatitis C. It may not show up until two or three months after you were originally infected.

the only probability you could contracting hep-c for the time of intercourse is that if your companion is bleeding in the vaginal/penial section. it rather is a great "if" and that i'd say that your probability is very small. i understand of a pair, one in all which had Hep-C for 35 years and the different in no way gotten smaller the ailment. So i assume a condom would defend you from any blood; besides the undeniable fact that, you could have a manner for the blood to get into your physique despite in case you do are available in touch with it, like a cut back or scrape. So my very own and expert opinion is: there is somewhat little probability. Godloveya and thank you for asking a question that would rather income others.

Hepatitis C is a liver disease that is caused by infection with the hepatitis C virus. The virus lives in the liver cells and causes the liver to become inflamed. In time, hepatitis C can lead to permanent liver damage as well as cirrhosis, liver cancer, and liver failure.

Hepatitis c is mainly for I.V drug users who share dirty needles. It is very hard to get thru sexual contact. You would have to have an open sore and the other person who have to be bleeding. You can also get it by sharing razors. It attacks your liver. There are treatments out there but they are very invasive.

hepatitis c is a virus that attacks your liver. it is blood-borne, so you basically get it with blood-blood contact, iv drug use with dirty needles, or unprotected sex. it isn't a death sentence, per se, but it usually gives you about 20 years more of life. also, you can't ever drink alcohol again, and you'd better not be having any more unprotected sex, two huge reasons to avoid it
