is it called chiterlings or chitlins that black folks like so much.and ,arent they pig intestines?

my dad eats an asian version of chitlins. but I can't stand them. I went past a place that was making them and at first I thought the sewer was backed up.

Chitterlings, or "chitlins" are pig intestines.
I always thought that blacks were the only ones who ate these, too. When I moved to multicultural Los Angeles, I found out that almost EVERY ethnicity eats them!
I tried them for the first time a few years ago. I was at a friends' house (you never eat them from strangers, because you don't know how well they clean them) and I said I never had them. I tried one "wrinkle" with hot sauce.
It was chewy and tasted like hot sauce.

Not all black folks like chitterlings. They are pronounced "chitlins", and yes, they are pig intestines, that have been washed, seasoned and cooked. Before you gross out, if you eat sausage, what holds it together are intestines, as hot dogs are made with "casings" which are actually intestines. "Chitlins" is just a pronounciation of "Chitterlings", just like "Mc" is pronounced "Mick".

Chilttlins are off the chain with the hotsace!!!! Only eat them about once or twice a year try not to eat alot of that greasy pork!!! But pig is good!!

Chittlins but if you want to be propper its chitterlings.They are pig intestinse but they are so good with some hot sause. Da Best

I never ate them , just the smell of them cooking made me feel ill. I heard the are really good though.

Not all black people eat chitterlins. I personally have never tasted them or had the desire to taste them.
