Actually, pretty good. A little more bland than beef, but good. I like mine with green chili and cheese.

Depends on what brand you try. Some of the soy-based ones aim for the taste and texture of meat; since I haven't actually had beef in 20 years, I can't tell you how successful they are. But I like Boca burgers, especially grilled.
Others are less beef-like because they're not meant to mimic a real burger so much as give you something yummy to put on a bun with your chosen condiments. There are grain based ones, mushroom based ones, bean based ones... I've tried a few that were awful, but some of them are pretty good as long as you're not expecting them to be particularly burger-like.

My personal favorite veggie burger is the one made by Morningstar Farms. Very good, and tastes nothing like cardboard. Boca Burgers are good, too.
BUT I will say this...GRILL them!!! I don't like them at all when cooked on the stove.

Depends greatly on the brand and type. There are 3 main companies: Morningstar, Boca, and Gardenburger each with many different flavors from ones that are trying to look and "taste" like meat to ones that are completely different.
If you don't like one try another and in all cases be sure to use plenty of toppings.

I think certain ones taste good. There is one specifically that is great, in my opinion, its called Boca Burgers. I eat real hamburgers but I still really enjoy those.

I've tried several brands during Lent as a substitute for meat on Friday -- including the Bocca burgers. Personally, I'd rather have a nice big slab of well-seasoned drywall slathered with used motor oil, instead.
I know people who love the darned things, but I'm not one of them.
Edit:
NOW he tells me. ;-)
Thanks for the info, Tyler. I'll have to give them another try, but I'll grill them this time.

Cardboard. :(
Seriously -- there are some great vegatarian foods. Where vegetarian food falls flat is when it tries to *emulate* meat products, and be something it's not. Any of the TVP, fake-meat type products are awful, especially compared to the real thing. If you're going to eat vegetarian, then do just that -- don't try to pretend you're a meat-eater with "just like meat but no meat" products!
