Endocrinologist is the best Dr. to treat your diabetes, they will also address and/or treat all the complications you are having from the diabetes, and if they cant they will refer you to someone who can.
When I was first diagnosed I had a family doctor who refused to refer me to a endocrinologist, she kept claiming that she was qualified to treat me, and with my insurance I couldn't just go I had to have a referral. Well needless to say after almost a year of feeling like I was run over by a mac truck. I switched family doctors and was referred to the endo, best decision I ever made. You have to remember just because their doctors don't mean they are always right. If you think something is wrong, do something, change doctors. Its your body and you know whats right and whats not. I hope you can get to a doctor that's more helpful for you. Don't wait, do it asap. Good luck and god bless

Whoa, whoa......you need a new doctor ASAP!!! Even an urgent care clinic might be in order. You need treatment for diabetes, not just pain meds. This is nuts, absolutely nuts.

Get a new doctor immediately!

When your physician dismissed you, where did he refer you? Most of the time a physician will refer before dismissal to release his obligations from the state and avoid abandonment. Clearly from the meds and your story this is more complicated than it appears.
