You most likely will experience gas. To get yourself through these phase quicker I would recommend a detox. You can probably get something at the health food store, I use www.drnatura.com the stuff here once a year.
This will also help you get the full advantage of eating healthier. That way once your body is clean then your will be able to absorb the nutrition in the food and you will feel wonderful

When I switched to a vegan diet I had really bad stomach pains for about 2 weeks. I don't know why but it didn't feel like gas pains and despite the rumors I did not have abnormal gas effects. It eventually stopped and I am happy with my choice.

In my case it didn't do any harm. I use to get stomach aches all the time when I ate meat. I went cold turkey with the whole vegan thing and started feeling better right away. I digest better and after eating I don't feel so tired. The "switch" was easy on my husband and two kids also.

Pulses of all sorts, the staple of the vegan diet, do cause not only gas, but unpleasantly smelling gas. However, you are not responsible for what goes on behind your back. There is not really an awful lot you can do about it, in my experience.

Yeah, it is totally normal to get the trots. My mother-in-law had our toilet all splattered last time she was here. A vegan diet is not natural and this is how your body lets you know that it needs red meat.

So if veggies induce gas why would anyone want that discomfort.
I remember it as a kid when all there was-------veggies!!!! I did not eat! Why did I want to lay on a sofa to recover!!!
