I wonder why canola is termed a healthy oil when I know it isn't. How can they
get away with that?

It is in so many foods for one reason....IT'S CHEAP ......
Is it bad for the body? It is Canadian oil once thought to be a great machine oil which did not break down under high heat.
Made from the cross of two plants one being rapeseed. which causes many problems with human consumption. Do a search on rapeseed and you can find your answer .. As the human body is a bio-machine which needs to burn fuel to produce energy then when it gets a oil that does not have a low combustion point it makes it harder for the body to use the oil for fuel... Check your info on body fuel combustion
and decide for yourself. If you like to not be over weight and sluggish then I would use a natural oil instead of a man made or GMO product to eat. But Great for oil for machines and other metal goods... How do they get away with it ? Check th FDA files on paid acceptance to get approval as a food product. And don't forget how unaware the public is to health and they just don't care what they eat as long as it tastes good ... Who cares if it is real food or not. welcome to earth. Just my opinion. check out your own information its out there to read .. both sides. then decide for yourself.

U could always switch to lard. It is like every year something is bad for u. Margarine is bad when pushing butter. Butter is bad when pushing margine, and yes I remember when lard was pushed over vegatable oil.
I use canola regularly on occassions "i rarely fry anything", if something small olive oil, large --canola--why is canola oil so bad when lots of people buy canola seed--the good seed not the ones used for crap--there is more than one type of canola.
If the good canola was so bad----then when sprouted and fed to lots of canaries--it would have killed them on the spot!
There is a small black oilly type- not to use for anything in consumption--it is used for machine oil! The small black oily type would kill anything, so u have to know what u are getting for consumption!

Canola oil is one of the healthier oils. Other "healthier" oils can't be used at as high of temperatures for frying, etc.

Please read what Snopes has to say on this issue-that these allegations are false, poorly deducted from the facts. If you are still nervous about it then don't use it-but I think if you research you'll find these assertions don't bear up.
