it is not possible to become non diabetic. BUT it is possible to stop insulin. this requires strict & timely diet, regular excercises, proper medication etc.,

My father was a diabetic and on insulin for 10 years, then insulin was stopped and with tablets, diet, and regular walking / excercises. his sugar level was maintained. He survived like this for another 10 years but recently (in JULY 2006) he expired due to Paralytic stroke at the age of 80 years.

There isn't a cure yet.
The US Department of Health and Human Services is working on ways to prevent, cure and minimize the devastating complications of diabetes, but haven't found a cure. Some day if they perfect the cloning process they may be able to reproduce the cells which make insulin, but that is a ways off if it ever happens with all the debate and hoopla about cloning.
