I have been to a gyno 4 times this year and all of my results have come back negative, and they say I am fine.... but (and I know this is gross) but my vagina smells bad. Like, I will be at work, and go to the bathroom, and it just stinks. Even when I take a shower and use that douche stuff, the smell comes back like a few hours later. I also have this dark creamy discharge. The docs say I dont have an std or anything like that .... but what can that smell be then? And how do I get rid of it ? ? ? ? ? ??
Oh, and the jeans and stuff that I wear... no matter how many times I wash them, they still have a light smell to them now....
i know... eeww lol

You need to go to another gyno because it sounds like you have a bacterial infection. I've had one before and i had a dark, almost a brownish hue discharge that looked kind of like cottage cheese. It had a very foul odor but i never felt sick or anything, it just came up after i had my pap exam. They gave me an antibiotic and it was gone within a week or two. Go get a second opinion if you haven't already and tell them you are very concerned. Sometimes you have to be persistent but it is your health we're talking about! Hope this helps you and good luck!!

I know that you sid all of your results are negative but it could possible be Bacterial vaginosis, which is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria normally present in the vagina.

Symptoms are a watery, pearly grey discharge instead of normal vaginal secretions, a strong or unusual odour from the vagina.

Bacterial vaginosis may occur simultaneously with other infections or sexually transmitted diseases.

Although it is not clear how bacterial vaginosis is transmitted, it is more common in women who are sexually active. It sometimes develops soon after intercourse with a new partner. Women who have female sexual partners may transmit the infection on fingers or shared sex toys.

During a medical examination, your doctor may notice:
The discharge or odour, Decreased acidity of the vaginal fluid. This can occur even if you have not noticed any symptoms.

If you have no symptoms, treatment is usually not required. You should receive treatment if you have symptoms, or your doctor has noticed signs of bacterial vaginosis.

Antibiotics are used to treat the infection. An antibiotic known as metronidazole is often used to treat the infection.

This is just a stab in the dark, but it could possibly be a food that you are eating. I know that asparagus can discolor your urine, and it also has a bad smell. If I were you, I would try another doctor. Also be sure you drink a lot of water. I can't say exactly what it is, but I think your doctor is missing the boat. A dark colored discharge doesn't sound right. Good luck to you. Let us know when you find out.

Honestly, if the doctors say you don't have any STDs, this is probably just your natural smell. Some people have stronger "scents" than others. It is totally normal to have a smell down there, though. Just wash and change your underwear normally.
Also, douching is a REALLY bad idea, unless a doctor specifically tells you to. Just wanted to point that out. Instead of cleaning yourself out, it pushes tons more bacteria up there. If you think you smell bad now, just wait until you get some sort of infection.

It sounds like you may have some kind of a bacterial infection, or possibly a fungal infection. Fungus can overrun your reproductive organs, ESPECIALLY if you are douching regularly.

Have you tried an OTC yeast infection remedy? If your discharge is really thick, and is white to a whitish-yellow, this could clear it up. If it's darker than that, though, you could be spotting, which warrants a medical check up for things like ovarian cancer (not to scare you or anything, but better safe than sorry), endometriosis, or fibroids.

Any kind of sudden change in your body that lasts for more than a month needs to be checked out. It wouldn't hurt to have a CT scan of your pelvic region to make sure that there's nothing going wrong in there.

Good luck to you.

No discharge is normal that smells that offensive or has the characteristic of being dark and creamy. Something is going on. It may not be an STD, but it's some sort of infection. See another gynecologist. And don't stop until you find someone who helps you.

Good luck~

You are normal. Don't douche. Take some of those wet wipes in your purse all the time. Use them every time you go to the bathroom. Also, use pantiliners to keep the odor from your clothes. You are going to have to put up with this until you are in your 50's. In the olden days, the odor might be a way of attracting mates like the odor that dogs give off when they are in heat.

What you are describing is not normal. Stop douching--it is dangerous and could make the situation worse. Do see another doctor as soon as you can. If that doctor does not help, go to another doctor and continue until you have diagnosis and treatment. Also make certain that you have another pap test and a urine analysis soon. I sure hope you follow up on this ASAP.
Meanwhile a hint-try soaking your smelly clothes in a strong white vinegar solution for a hour or so before washing.

I would stop douching. It disrupts the p.H levels in the vagina and throws the bacteria off balance, which could kill good bacteria and grow bad bacteria, leading to an infection. I would also see a different doctor, it sounds like something is definitely wrong, especially with a "dark" discharge. Good Luck!

ok I used to work in an OB/Gyn and had to deal with a lot of things, trust me when I say every woman has her own smell. Alot of things contribute to it, diet, exercise. sometimes there is nothing that can be done for that smell, I know its awful, but it doesn't mean you are dirty or unhealthy. If all your tests are fine, you might just be "blessed" with a strong odor, it should fade as you get older.
