I filed for a divorce from my husband. I went to the dr. for my yearly exam and also asked her to check for STD's, and it came back positive for genital herpes. I don't think I have ever had an outbreak but i remember when we married and since then, my husband has frequently had sore places on him he dismissed casually. How can I ever tell someone, if I ever have another relationship, that I have this?

Regardless of the fact that your husband gave it to you, it doesn't matter now. You have it.
There are going to be guys who are interested in you. The best thing that you can do is wait until you know what direction the relationship is going, and then tell them.
For instance, you could say, "Look, I really like you, and I feel like we're hitting it off. I do have something to tell you, though, before this goes any further. I've been diagnosed with genital herpes. If you don't want to deal with it, I'll understand, but you have a right to know before we, um, go THERE. I'll let you decide."
That's a good way to start.

i was in the same position. I have herpes and I met this guy that I fell in love with at first site. It was actually a night that we were laying in bed together talking about us. I asked him alot of questions about our relationship. When I found out that he really cared about me, I told him then. It did not bother him at all. And you can prevent it from giving it to someone. Or now they have a web site with people with just stds.I ended up giving him the std, we now are getting married and have a beautiful 2-year old together, who did not get it.

In some States is if Illegal Not to tell. In California you can actually get one year in prison for not telling a parnter that you have Herpies.

It's going to be tough, but honesty is the best way to go. You may get rejected, but I think you'll eventually find someone who is either understanding, or has herpes, as well.

be honest on this matter and tell them the truth . so that they can make up there own minds put yourself in there place and there is your answer. i hate to say this if you give this to a person knowing you have it by law this is a felony in almost every state as well . my opion? //legal matter///

You must tell them and your ex. It is a terrible to inflict on someone and if you find someone stupid enough to want to shag your infected **** at least let him make a decision on the risks himself. Also tell your ex he needs a few courses of Valtrex to manage it. You should have stayed with him at least it would have contained it x AND HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU NEVER INFECTED HIM..........YOU ARE A CARRIER OF THIS VIRUS
