I am on the computer in the lobby of the hospital now. I just decided it was best to let the doctor take a look at me after eating that dead animal I found on the road. I did drink the green juice that everyone recommended, however, I couldn't keep it down. I have not been able to keep any food down. I have a really bad fever now.

What particular vegetables are good to eat if you have suffered from mild food poisoning? I want to try and eliminate the toxins from my body.

Most vegetables contain nutrients that help eliminate toxins eg free radicals. Try something like homemade vegetable soup which contains a variety of veg. Don't cook them away to nothing or you'll lose all the nutrients. Also eat plenty of foods that contain a lot of fibre eg, wholewheat bread, they help to 'clean' the inside of your body and in your case should help to eliminate the toxins.

And why did you eat a dead animal from the road?!

Hello. Eating road-kill is very resourceful and saves the County Council money by not having to collect it. As for toxins, artichokes can assist liver function and aid digestion - tinned ones are OK (and pretty widely available) and taste good cold and on pizza.

not sure about veggies but drinking green tea has its benefits!

Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:

cancer
rheumatoid arthritis
high cholesterol levels
cariovascular disease
infection
impaired immune function

Don't eat veggies if you are puking and have a fever, sip cooled down boiled water and gently chew dry toast, keep applying a wet flannel to your forehead and seek medical advice!!

The next day just eat organic veg made into a broth with some aduki beans* in - they are good for eliminating junk!

Eat mostly raw food. If you can juice do so. Say away from meat 100% for the next couple days.

All of the carotenoid and very green veggies are great for de-toxing your body. I would caution you to eat these cooked or steamed, however to kill any bacterial residue. I have been a vegan a long time and at almost 50 years young, I feel better than I did in my teens, 20's, 30's and most of the 40's. I would advise eating 10 servings a day of these veggies. This would mean having 2 frozen boxes of spinach cooked and 2 cans of carrots cooked. Of course, if you wash these raw veggies thoroughly you would have them in salads. A serving of veggies is equal to 1/2 cup. All you have to eat is 5 cups a day of these delicious and bright veggies. Eat tofu and whole grains to round out your diet. Have 4 servings of fresh fruit (washed well, of course). For breakfast you could have cooked old fashioned oatmeal with plain soymilk to replace the milk in cooking. You could have a cup of blueberries (the frozen ones are great...I eat 1 cup a day of these, too). For a midmorning snack you could have an organic apple washed thoroughly. For lunch you could have a box of the frozen spinach cooked with vegan margarine and nutmeg. You could also have some fried tofu in olive oil and spices AND a baked sweet potato with some vegan margarine. For your afternoon snack you could have a cup of cooked navy beans with 1/4 cup of tofu and vegan salad dressing. For dinner you could have some more spinach cooked, some carrots and some grilled or fried tofu. For dessert or evening snack you could make a carrot or yam pudding with cooked, mashed carrots, yams, sweet potatoes, Splenda sweetener, nutmeg, cinnamon, raisins, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract and plain soymilk to blend it all together.

To detox your system even more effectively, drink lots of green tea, stinging nettle tea and have your two cups of coffee in the morning without any milks or creams. I always add a dash of soymilk in mine.

Good luck dear! You will feel better than you ever have!
