Good: Lot of choices, Wide variety, No retrictions, Can eat at any restaurant,

Bad : Lot of unwanted nutrients, Health problems, Bad odour- unbearable to some. Tamasic (non-pious) food leading to development of Tamasic qualities.

You can decide- What is more - Good or Bad?

Oh, this is an interesting topic of debate and it'll rage on forever I imagine.

Nevertheless, I would disagree with the elephant and tiger comments. The world isn't divided into herbivores and carnivores. Human beings are naturally omnivorous and we'll eat anything that tastes fine and isn't harmful. In this regard, we've been hunting, cooking and eating meat for a long time. There are other omnivorous primates who don't have spears or darts to catch their food, but still tribal and aboriginal humans hunt and eat meat.

Nevertheless, the question was about the good and bad points of being a 'non-vegetarian'. Firstly, non-vegetarians are not carnivores. There's fruit and vegetables in a 'non-veg' diet too.

The good points are a more diverse diet in terms of nutrition, flavour, texture, smell and appearance. I would say another positive point is that you don't limit your choice of places to eat, or what you'll eat. Unless I expand on the benefits of the diverse diet, there aren't many more positive points than that.

Negative points are; the meat eaten will increase cholesterol levels if you don't exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle. There are moral questions around the rearing, feeding and slaughter of livestock used for human consumption, as well as the quality of ever cheaper food for the western market. If that's not enough, don't ask what's in a sausage. And why is cheap supermarket chicken all white and floppy? Mainly because a large percentage of it is no longer chicken.

Nevertheless, I think this is almost more of a lifestyle question than a purely food or drink, or dietary question. Modern society is geared to an inherently inactive and unhealthy way of living. I would suggest eating meat is good, but be particular about the quality of the food you eat, and retain a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet.

The good is that you are making an attempt to care more about yourself or the environment.

The bad news is that you are going about it the wrong way. Think about these things...

-- We need livestock in this world. WIthout manure we will not have properly fertilized plants (and vegetarian foods will lack nutrients)
-- The alternative to manure for crop fertilization is unrenewable resources. Ex.-- urea (a very popular form of nitrogen) is made from fossil fuels.
-- If you think you not eating a steak will give a 3rd world child a better chance to eat today you are wrong. Food problems are about distribution and greed and not money.
-- Some popular vegetarian food is more harmful than you think. Soybeans hve a chemical in them that mimic the effects of estrogen. Eating enough of this could change the timing of a female's schedule.

Vegetarianism is not good for the environment, your health or 3rd world wealth. Alternatively, buy local, buy organic and ask how it was raised.

My non-vegetarian relatives, friends and acquaintances often assume that I look down on them for eating meat. I could say that this is their perception is their problem and that their negative attitude doesn’t help. But actually, their reaction is completely understandable.

After spending most of the last 30 years as a vegetarian, I don’t consider meat as food, I can’t pass the meat counter in a grocery store without feeling ill, and I look away when I see someone eating meat.

But just because I feel that way doesn’t make other people's diet wrong. Being vegetarian doesn't automatically mean that you're a good person. Jesus is rumored to have been a vegetarian, but so was Hitler. Still, I feel that evil people are in the minority, and people are mostly good.

It's clear that vegetarians and non-vegetarians must work together to solve the problems we’ve created, like global warming, environmental degradation, and poverty. Eating together is a great place to start. To enjoy sharing food, veg and non-veg need to set aside their differences, do their best to provide for each other’s needs, and place humanity before ideology. Hopefully, it will then be easier to do the same on a global level.

One in three advice letters to Savvy Veg is about veg feeding non-veg or vice-versa. These letters come from both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. This means that one in three people have this problem! Obviously, nobody’s dying from this, but why should this sad condition continue, when it can be helped by good will, common sense, and a few ground rules?

If you are Non-Vegetarian then you can move anywhere in the world without having eating problems. Because rest of the world is non-vegetarian. There is no problems with Vegetarians in India at all. The Human body is made to be a vegetarian we don't have wild-animals like specially developed by nature. BEING VEGETARIAN is NATURALLY GOOD.
If you confuse just think about ELEPHANT (PURE-VEG) and the Wild animal like TIGER (pure NON-VEG). Regards.

Being a non-vegetarian is not exactly bad on the health side.

I live with two vegetarians and know many more, they are strict vegetarians, (no egg) dairy ok. (they arent vegan) They seem to all develop some type of problems i suppose from lack of protien, and other essential needs from meat.

many people become vegetarians or vegans for usually two reasons, religion, and health.

all in all, if you decide to become a vegetarian, i suggest you keep eggs and dairy in your diet, to support your protien needs.
And, being a vegetarian does not necessarily mean you are improving your health, you can actually be destroying your body.

There isn't anything healthy about eating meat. It is pumped up with antibiotics and steroids, it's stressed from being treated cruely before it's killed and sent to market which gives it alot of stress hormones.

The good thing about being a non-vegetarian is that its the first step towards going to hell and the bad thing is that you kill lives of innocent creatures who had nothing to do with your life.

She is necessary to search information with conscience. the difference between a food and another one will depend on its organism and its attitudes. the veses in the combination of vegetables and other nutrients can contain vitamins insulficiente.. Then I look for to search alternatives to substitute and to feed themselves of form that I do not contribute for the suffering of the animals. I make an established feeding of 20% germinated seeds that pontecializam our structure. e the remain in well cooked foods balanced.
Vegetarians should take care to include soyabeans, groundnuts, lentils, mushrooms and so on to get a sufficient supply of proteins
