You're life is not ruined, trust me!

For most people HPV (the virus that causes genital warts) goes away on its own. So, your body may be able to get rid of it in the future. But for now, there are a few ways of treating the warts.

I personally think the easiest way is by going to the doctor and having them write you a prescription for some cream. Aldara and Condylox are both creams available with a prescription from your doctor. Either one of these can be applied at your convenience at your own home. If you do get one of these medications make sure you read the directions because it can actually cause a person to get 2nd and 3rd degree burns from it, no joke! And, it can take a while for the warts to disappear. I used Aldara about 10 months ago and it took a little over a month for the warts to completely go away.

If this doesn't work, you may need to have the doctor apply a stronger medication at the office. This is done in several visits, is more expensive and can be pretty painful from what I have heard.

If that still doesn't work or the warts are severe you may even need to have them surgically removed. The doctor can freeze them off or burn them off. I personally saw this as a last resort and wanted to try the cream at home first.

I honestly thought mine would go away on their own too, so you aren't alone! I waited a good month before I went to the doctor hoping they would just go away, but they never did. If anything they got worse!

I would suggest going to your doctor as soon as you can. They will be able to help you out a lot better! Good luck to you!

Contrary to popular belief, freezing or burning is the template answer people give out when they either don't know any better (and just reciting what they've heard elsewhere) or someone who has a financial interest in getting paid large sums for freezing or burning.

A lot of people contact me via my website on genital warts and often come from different experiences, many who ahve had them froze or burnt off, and some who have used creams, etc and Aldara. I can tell you from these people telling me all the time that these things do not always work for everyone. Also, they are expensive and painful. Fortunately there are better methods out there.

I've helped a lot of people. If you or anyone else ever has any questions about this, feel free to contact me via my website.

Go to a doctor. They'll prescribe you with Aldara more than likely. It worked miracles on me. I had genital warts some time ago. It took about 3 or 4 weeks for them to be completely gone with Aldara.

I thought my world was over when I got G.W but all that you need to do is deal with it, get rid of them, and protect yourself.

Best of luck!

Genital warts are one of the most common sexually transmissible infections (STIs). They are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). There are over 100 strains of HPV, but only some affect the genitals. Genital warts can appear around the genitals and anus or, sometimes, inside the vagina, rectum or urethra.

Appearance of genital warts
Genital warts appear as painless growths and may be:
Flat or raised, Single or multiple, Clustered together with a cauliflower-like appearance, Sometimes they are not visible.

In many cases, the warts are a subclinical infection. This means that you are carrying the human papilloma virus (HPV) in an area of your skin, even though you do not have any visible warts. This commonly happens with women and often the virus is only detected when they have a Pap smear.

Transmitted by direct contact
Genital warts are spread by direct skin to skin contact during vaginal or anal sex. Infection may occur after direct contact with a visible wart. It is also possible that contact with an area of skin with a subclinical infection may result in infection.

A variety of treatments
Treatment removes the visible wart but not the virus. Always consult your doctor about any treatments. The options include:
Cryotherapy – the warts are frozen off with liquid nitrogen or dry ice. This is done once a week. Several treatments may be needed.
Podophyllotoxin – this lotion can be applied at home. Pregnant women should not use podophyllotoxin.
Imiquimod cream – this is applied three times a week for up to three months. It is most effective in women and least effective for penile warts.
Laser or diathermy treatment – this is used for warts in places that are difficult to reach. Laser or diathermy treatment is administered in hospital under general anaesthetic.
Podophyllin paint – this caustic plant extract must be applied by a doctor. It must be washed off four hours after it is applied and should only be used once or twice a week. It should never be used during pregnancy.

You can help reduce the risk of spreading genital warts by:
Treating warts as soon as they appear.
Using condoms – they protect the area of skin that they cover, but their ability to provide reliable protection against warts is not established.

Moles, warts, and epidermis tickets are common epidermis wounds that develop naturally. I am dealing with this mess right now and this is my first time having this and I really dont know how I got it because I used protection. Anyway I have one and I got it removed and I am waiting for the healing process .Removing warth eliminates number of virus and gives your body a chance to defeat the remaining . You dealing with viruses every day and your body is fight against them every day . You have to increase your immune system , eat lots of nutritious food and exercise . Take you daily dose of vitamin . You have to be strong to defeat this virus . It stays in your system between 6 months to 2 years and after 2 years if you are clear then it means your immune system did a good job . It is just like haveing a bad flu , you have to eat good food and rest . Another thing that I am going to do is going to the sauna becuase viruses are not able to live in any high temperature so sweating and increasing your body temperature can kill the viruses . So go to your doctor and get them removed and work on your immune system . People and doctors can scare hell out of you when it come to warth . If your body couldnt fight any virus , then everyone was dead after catching a simple flu . I just read an article saying 80 percent of people get HPV at before they reach 50 .. So you and me are not the only ones.

your whole life is not ruined! Go to your doctor (dont be embarrased, im sure she has seen this condition 100's of times.) she will give you a cream to be applied a few times a day. If you leave it too long you might have to have surgery, where they freeze them off. I know this happens to girls when they are left but not sure about men. There is always a possibilitly that they will return but chances are they wont. Dont leave it any longer. Make that appointment before they get any worse.

You have not messed up your whole life. The important thing is not to spread them to others, and to go to the doctor. Genital warts are treatable, albeit not very comfortably, but you can not treat them yourself.
