Actually trichomoniasis can usually be cured with the prescription drug, metronidazole (Flagyl), given by mouth in a single dose.

It can take several days though for the symptoms to completely disappear and a person should not have sex again until all the symptoms have gone away. Trich is sometimes referred to as the "ping pong" disease because couples can pass it back and forth to each other before the STD is fully cured.

Flagyl (Metronidazole) used to be a one week treatment, with daily intakes of three tablets a day during seven days.
Modernly it has been replaced by Fasigyn (Trinidazole)
which has a long lasting effect, It needs only one intake of two 1000 mg or four 500 mg tablets.
It is recommended that also your sex partner to take the same dose and avoid unprotected relations for at least 10 days to prevent from reinfection

A large single dose of Flagyl is as effective as longer term treatment, but if treatment with a single dose fails your doctor may try multi-dose therapy.

Yes the single dose regime is right and depending on the tablet size up to 10 tabs are taken I would go back for re testing before I let someone use you again. Also do not let the guy that gave it to you use you as he will not be showing signs and symptons and it is not easy to cure for guys xx

Who's they? A doctor? If a doctor gave you the pills and you took them like he/she said to, you should be fine in a week, but I've never heard of taking 8 pills in one day for treatment before. Maybe you should ask your doctor.
