I witnessed two animals fighting and one killed the other one. Since it was an animal that killed the other animal, is it ok for me to eat the one that was killed? Would vegans make an acception because it was one animal killing another?

Please not, if you don't have anything positive to add with your answers, then don't answer my questions. I am sick and tired of you people forcing your views on me.

And you are not trying to force your views by continually posting the same questions in Vegetarian & Vegan?

Nice that your little side-kick 'Cowboy Bill' shows up too. This should be an interesting forum. So -

No. I for one would not make an 'exception'. It is a whole belief system, FHG. As a previous answerer has noted, animals vary rarely kill other animals other than for food for themselves or their family/pack etc. The only real exeption to this is the large upright anthropoid we named 'human'. So would that make you a cannibal? If it were human meat would you still eat it? would it be okay to eat it? Should it be made legal, perhaps?
Hmmmm - overcrowded prisons.... kill a few of the reeeeeal badasses and have a picnic!
Adds a whole new level to 'just let him stew', doesn't it.
Starvation in Africa - so what if most of it is caused by the actions of the northern hemisphere populations.... cook 'em up. A few spices, pich of salt, some beans and a little spinach - that'll help sort it out. mmmmmmm, long pig!!

It depends on a person's reasons. Some are vegan for religious reasons, and do not want to consume the body of an animal in general. Others, like myself, are against factory farming. Some do not agree with killing, period.

I guess it would just depend. Personally, I don't really desire to eat meat, on top of being against our current slaughter/farming methods. I don't "crave it" and doubt that even if I were in that situation, I would wait for the winning animal to depart just to grab the dead one for dinner.

Again, that is simply a personal opinion, and has nothing to do with the animal rights cause, in general.

Perhaps there is someone out there that has strong desire to eat meat, but chooses not to on principal that would eat the dead animal. Fundamentally, there isn't anything wrong with it, in my mind, I am just not interested in eating meat. I guess after 11 years I have just found so many yummy alternatives!

Oh, now that's rich coming from a bloke who only uses this site to bait and bully a specific section of the community. If you can't stand the heat....

Anyhow, in the unlikely event of there being an iota of serious curiosity in your question, that would depend on the individual in question.

People choose not to eat meat for a variety of reasons; ecological, economic, compassionate and taste to name the main ones. So it would depend on the vegan in question, although the majority would still say no.

Whether this is because they would still not find it acceptable or because they do not make exceptions is a moot point, other than to point out your poor grasp on the English language. Ha ha!

OH! Is that how it works?

YOU, a carnivore, come in here to the Vegetarian / Vegan section and ask a question, and when we answer, WE'RE forcing OUR views on you!

Only someone with a twisted mind has that kind of logic.

No, you're not sick and tired of us. You're just simply sick! Because you're enjoying this!

i dont want to offend you or anything but thats a dumb question

most animals dont fight and kill eachother without eating the dead one or what would be the point in killing it (animals are sensible) so its not really a realistic option

can i ask you a question please (being right polite here)? what is your problem of vegans? you always seem to be getting at them is there a reason because lots of people on here find it offensive and ive read lots of the answers to your questions and you i dont think they're telling you how to live their putting thier veiw across and you dont have to agree with it lots of people have said its you choice and i havent met any meateaters or vegans who try and make me a meat eater or vegan (im veggie)

i dont know what your problem is

maybey in principle yes becuase it was already dead but i think that lots of them wouldnt like the idea of eating meat
but maybey no becuase they dont thinjk that people should eat meat
and most people (not just vegans) wouldnt like to eat it becuase its like another animal has killed it and it would make them go squeemish

you eat what you like ven if i dont agree with it i cant tell you not to becuase its your choice

I think that would be messing with the echo system just like humans did by mass production of animals for food consumption.

I have a vegan friend who wont eat meat under any circumstances. I think she is the norm as far as they are concerned so the answer is no.

If you're a meat eater you can eat what you like.

Aveggie or vegan couldn't eat any animal, no matter how it died.

when you decide to become a vegan you do not eat or use any produce from animals whether its meat, dairy, clothes, cosmetics, etc,
its a life style choice.
