If you have a cat or dog,tell them you would never even think about eating them if they died,then tell you don't want to eat any meat because cows,pigs,and chickens are animals just like your dog or cat is,and you don't want to eat them.That's what I did,plus my parents know I always hated steak,bacon,all sea foods,so it wasn't a big deal when I gave up all meats.

what does it matter to them? it's not like your decision to be vegetarianism would personally insult or hurt them in some way. if they make your food, though, you may have to learn to make some of your own meals if they won't cook you any. just tell them flat-out, though. it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

just gradually wean yourself away from meat, and once you have done it all together, you can drop the bomb on them.
