Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

We like French cheeses!
Americans don't like French cheese - or any European cheese - because the Americans only eat PLASTIC cheese!
Kraft is to blame, they melt a lump of plastic, add a tiny bit of grated cheese and some salt, then they add the colour from paprika to make it look right. After they've stirred it they pour the plastic into special trays. That's how they make their fake "cheese" - already in convenient slices - square, of course, so that they fit into the American fake "bread" which is made with over-processed flour and has NO flavour or texture - and of course it comes in convenient square slices to match the fake "cheese"!

Many Americans do not like French cheese because these cheeses have a strong taste and smell. Americans tend to eat milder cheeses. We also don't have much access to the kinds of cheeses served in France. When I spent some time in France years ago, I enjoyed trying the different cheeses, but most of the Americans I was with wouldn't even taste them.

I simply prefer English (or other European) styles of cheese. Cheddar, Cheshire, Double Gloucester, Red Leicester, Stilton, Danish Blue, Gouda, Edam over the too pungent smell and flavor of French cheeses.
Like throughout history, whatever the French have done, the English have always done better, at least when it comes to wars, justice, democracy, navies, colonization, novels, government, royalty, language, finance, bathing and CHEESE. (The French, one must say, are MUCH better cooks!)
